Jackson Had Pulse When Doctor Found Him In Bed

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson still had a faint pulse and his body was warm when his doctor found him in bed and not breathing, a lawyer for the doctor told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Edward Chernoff also said Dr. Conrad Murray never prescribed or gave Jackson the drugs Demerol or OxyContin. He denied reports suggesting Murray gave Jackson drugs that contributed to his death.

Chernoff told the AP that Murray was at the pop icon's rented mansion on Thursday afternoon when he discovered Jackson in bed and not breathing. The doctor immediately began administering CPR, Chernoff said.

"He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn't breathing," the lawyer said. "Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

Jackson's family requested a private autopsy in part because of questions about Murray, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday. Murray also told the family an autopsy should be performed, Chernoff said.

Three days after the death of the King of Pop, celebrities descended on Los Angeles for a spectacular celebration of Jackson's life at the annual BET awards show.

Joe Jackson, Michael's father, walked on the red carpet wearing a black hat, sunglasses and a dark suit. He did not appear on stage during the show.

"I just wish he could be here to celebrate himself," he said. "Sadly, he's not here, so I'm here to celebrate for him."

In a statement read at the show, Jackson's parents said they solely had the personal and legal "authority for our son and his children." It was their strongest declaration yet about their son's affairs.

A tearful Janet Jackson appeared on stage in a white dress at the end of the BET awards. After a long pause to gather herself, she spoke haltingly but deliberately to the audience.

"I'd just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. And he will forever live in all of our hearts," she said.

People close to Michael Jackson have said since his death that they were concerned about his use of painkillers. Los Angeles County medical examiners completed their autopsy Friday and said Jackson had taken unspecified prescription medication.

Chernoff said any drugs the doctor gave Jackson were prescribed in response to a specific complaint from the entertainer.

"Dr. Murray has never prescribed nor administered Demerol to Michael Jackson," Chernoff said. "Not ever. Not that day. ... Not Oxycontin (either) for that matter."

Paramedics were called to the mansion while the doctor was performing CPR, according to a recording of the 911 call.

Because Jackson was so frail, Murray "administered with his hand behind his back to provide the necessary support," Chernoff said. Some have speculated the doctor botched the CPR.

"He's a trained doctor," Chernoff said. "He knows how to administer CPR."

Medics spent three-quarters of an hour trying to revive Jackson. He was pronounced dead later at UCLA Medical Center.

Murray was interviewed by investigators for three hours Saturday. His spokeswoman called Murray "a witness to this tragedy," not a suspect in the death, and police described the doctor as cooperative.

The attorney said Murray will wait to speak publicly until after the police and forensics investigation is complete.

"One of his best friends just died, essentially in his arms — yeah he's looking forward to telling his story," Chernoff said.

Chernoff also said the promoter of Jackson's 50-show London concerts, AEG Live, owes the cardiologist $300,000.

"His contract with the promoters states he would receive an amount of money each month to be his (Jackson's) personal physician and they have failed to honor that contract," Chernoff said. "They are two months behind."

Randy Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live, acknowledged the contract called for Murray to be paid $150,000 a month, but said the contract required Jackson's signature.

"Michael never signed the contract," Phillips said.

He also said the doctor's claim for payment may be against Jackson's estate, not AEG which was merely advancing the money to Jackson.

A private pathologist hired by the Jackson family completed a second, private autopsy Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the case.

A second autopsy can allow the family to get some information about a death almost immediately, including signs of heart, brain or lung disease or fresh needle punctures, said Dr. Michael Baden, a medical examiner not involved in the Jackson case.

"Usually if it looks normal with the naked eye, it looks normal under the microscope," said Baden, who recently performed a second autopsy on actor David Carradine.

Los Angeles County coroner's officials said their autopsy found no indication of trauma or foul play. But because of additional tests, an official cause of death could take weeks to determine.

There was no word from the Jackson family on funeral plans. Many of Jackson's relatives have gathered at the family's Encino compound, caring there for Jackson's three children.

Al Sharpton, who arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, said he was heading to the Jackson compound and would talk with the family about how to memorialize the late pop star. Sharpton said they want to hold memorials in key cities around the globe and also planned a memorial service Tuesday at the Apollo Theater in New York.

It also wasn't clear what would become of Jackson's Neverland Ranch. Investor Thomas Barrack previously set up the joint venture with Michael Jackson after the singer nearly lost the ranch to foreclosure.

Barrack feels close to family members and wants to hear their thoughts on how best to honor Jackson's memory, said Owen Blicksilver, a spokesman for Colony Capital LLC, the Los Angeles-based firm where Barrack is chairman and CEO. The investor joined Jackson's brother Jackie, Jermaine and Tito for lunch Saturday at the sprawling Santa Barbara County property.

A White House adviser said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that President Barack Obama had written to the Jackson family to express his condolences.

Doctor queried in Michael Jackson death

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles police on Saturday again questioned Michael Jackson's doctor, while the family of the pop music icon ordered its own private autopsy two days after his death shocked fans around the world.

Jackson's father issued a statement urging fans not to despair because the singer "will continue to live on in each and every one of you."

The family sought a second autopsy -- the official one was conducted on Friday -- amid reports about the 50-year-old singer's reliance on prescription medications.

Jackson's personal physician, Texas cardiologist Dr. Conrad Murray, who was with the singer when he collapsed at his rented mansion on Thursday, hired an attorney to accompany him to what was expected to be a lengthy meeting with the Los Angeles Police Department late on Saturday.

"Dr. Murray is considered to be a witness to the events surrounding Michael Jackson's death and he is not a suspect," Houston law firm Stradley, Chernoff & Alford said in a statement.

"Dr. Murray hired legal counsel to help guide him through the police investigation process. The law firm was hired to make sure the police investigation is conducted properly."

An LAPD spokeswoman said she had no updates on the meeting, three hours after it was scheduled to begin.

According to media reports, Jackson was injected with the narcotic painkiller Demerol shortly before he went into cardiac arrest. Murray was desperately trying to revive Jackson when paramedics arrived, and he rode with the singer in an ambulance to the hospital where the pop star was pronounced dead.

The official autopsy, conducted on Friday, failed to determine what killed Jackson, pending toxicology tests that were expected to take up to six weeks. Such tests could reveal the presence of drugs in his system.

The celebrity website TMZ.com, which first broke the news of Jackson's death, reported that the second autopsy took place at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, on the orders of the Jackson family.

Who is the hottest nude GQ model? Jennifer Aniston,Heidi Klum or Bruno

Talk about baring it all!

Sacha Baron Cohen’s gay Austrian alter-ego, Bruno, is the latest famous face to strip down for the cover of GQ magazine.

The fictional fashion journalist takes a barely-there cue from past cover models Jennifer Aniston and Heidi Klum.

But where Aniston barely covers up with a necktie and Klum flirtatiously poses on a pedestal, Bruno leaves little to the imagination.

In the magazine's July comedy issue, Bruno opens up about his sought-after hairstyle.

“Ich vouldn’t bother getting a Zac Efron hairstyle right now, cos ich am about to change mine and he’s certain to copy me again,” he says.

Bruno also maintains his good looks with a good night's sleep.

“In reality, ich sleep in a seaweed body wrap under a Zac Posen Navy-Cut Nightshirt,” says the fashion enthusiast. “In mein dreams, ich sleep naked in a giant reed basket drifting slowly down ze Nile, cradled in ze arms of Daniel Radcliffe.”

Kelly and Riley were both seen filming scenes for the movie recently in Arizona, where they are dancing around the deck of a boat, whilst in bikini’s. And it looks like they were having fun in the process.

Deepika-Ranbir love again with each other

Life has come a full circle for Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in no time. The duo can be seen spending quality time together these days on the sets of Yash Raj Films’ next directed by Siddharth Anand.

But it seems their on-screen chemsitry has reignited the old flame. The two were spotted shopping for a high-end music system for Deepika at a five-star hotel shopping plaza on Thursday.

Just a few months back they were not even on talking terms after their short-lived affair, but apparantly they patched up now.

The duo came face-to-face and even exchanged greetings while filming in Australia for their yet untitled Yash Raj film. However, they barely socialised, as Deepika was accompanied by her cricketer admirer Yuvraj Singh, and Ranbir Kapoor was in constant company of fashion designer Nandita Mahtani.

However they buried the hatchet some time back when they met each other during a cola commercial shoot with Shah Rukh Khan. That's when Deepika and Ranbir got talking. Soon thereafter, they started meeting up for dinners and late night coffees.

Kareena says:My mother didn't like me in bikini

Mum is the word for Kareena Kapoor and the actress would go to any length to keep her mother happy. So she has decided to stay away from bikini scenes as her mother, yesteryear heroine Babita, didn't like her in a two-piece suit in 'Tashan'.

"No more bikini shots for me. I mean I'm very happy with the kind of attention and adulation I got for getting into a bikini in 'Tashan'. And I wasn't uncomfortable wearing it. Why should I be? I've the physique to carry it off. But that's it.

"My mother didn't like me in a bikini. Also the kind of work that I'm doing now in '3 Idiots' or Rensil D'Silva's film doesn't require that kind of exposure," Kareena told us.

With Kareena being extremely busy with her career and beau Saif Ali Khan, mom Babita has a lot of time on hand."Her mother was a Christian and father a Sindhi. So we are as fond of the church as we're of the temple. Christmas is a big event for us," said Kareena. As far as conducting a career goes, Kareena's role model is Aishwarya.

"I love the way she carries herself and the roles she's choosing after marriage. I'd like to follow that pattern when I get married," she said.

But that's a long way off. At the moment Kareena is just happy being with Saif.

Former Village People cowboy performs for HIV prevention cruise

Randy Jones will be in Wilmington on Friday to perform on the cruise boat Royal Winner Princess II. When Randy Jones was growing up in North Carolina in the 1950s and '60s, he probably never thought that portraying a dancing cowboy and singing thinly veiled songs about the gay lifestyle would be his ticket to a permanent place in popular culture. But that's exactly what happened when Jones became an original member of pop music act The Village People in 1977. Who among us hasn't heard (if not sung along to) "In the Navy" and "Macho Man," or most especially "Y.M.C.A.," which has become an unlikely staple at sporting events and wedding receptions.

"I am very blessed to have such an association with The Village People," said Jones, who will be in Wilmington on Friday to perform on the cruise boat Royal Winner Princess II. The concert is being put on by OutImpact.com, a gay online magazine, to raise money for YouthAIDS, an HIV prevention group.

"It's a boat, so I'm not quite sure what to expect. I'll have to get my sea legs," said a friendly and talkative Jones. "I'll be doing stuff from my CD, 'Ticket to the World' (and) they will certainly be able to dance to every song I do. And I never do a show without closing with Y.M.C.A."

Jones grew up in Raleigh, where he attended Enloe High School and later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. He moved to New York in 1975 and soon became a member of The Village People, which was formed by the disco producer Jacques Morali. With members dressed up like a sailor, a policeman, a leather-wearing biker, an American Indian, a construction worker and "perhaps the most iconic," Jones offered, a cowboy, the Village People were a one-of-a-kind combination of soul-singing group, Monkees-style boy band and Chippendales dancers.

"You might say it was a comedy act with some great pop songs," Jones said. "People have no defense, they hear (the music) and they start smiling. You can't not have a good time when listening to a song called 'Macho Man.'●"

Before The Village People, "gay men had primarily been associated with images of extreme feminism," Jones said. With the Village People's macho get-ups, "Gay men were reclaiming these iconic images."

As referenced in the title of his new album, "Ticket to the World," on which Jones sings dance-oriented songs, including a cover of the Bee-Gees' "If I Can't Have You," being a member of The Village People was Jones' first step to rubbing shoulders with bigwigs. He's still invited to perform "Y.M.C.A." at New York Yankees games ("I was sitting in the mayor's box, and on one side of me was little Mikey Bloomberg and on the other there's Rudy Giuliani, Amerca's mayor, and here I am this kid from North Carolina.") and he's met presidents (he performed at George W. Bush's 2005 inauguration) and queens (England's Elizabeth II told him, "I love that song 'Y.M.C.A.' and I've always adored cowboys").

Tony Romo reveals dream date about Jessica Simpson

Tony Romo, who is the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, admits that when he isn't on the field he and Jessica spend their evenings viewing sport.

When asked to describe his perfect date, the athlete said: "A little bite to eat and probably watch a football game!"

Tony insists the blond singer-and-actress is a big fan of American football and is also supportive of his career.

He added: "She loves the game. It's exciting for both of us. I've found someone that I get to hang out with and who wants to see our team do well."

Although Tony and Jessica, 28, have been dating since November 2007, the couple have no plans to settle down and start a family just yet.

When quizzed about any wedding or baby announcements, the 29-year-old hunk laughed and replied: "None that I can think of!"

Jessica may enjoy watching American football, but some Dallas Cowboys fans weren't happy when she began dating Tony.

She was heavily criticized when the Dallas Cowboys lost in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs in 2008.

It was claimed Jessica was a distracting influence on Tony, after the pair spent the week before the big game together in Mexico.

Gisele Bundchen: Nude in Photo Magazine!

Let it be known that The Hollywood Gossip gives credit were it is due. Kudos to Photo magazine for an entirely new take on what is always a classic subject:

Gisele Bundchen nude.

In a series of artistic, yet sexy pictures, the publication covers the model in body paint, vines, what appears to be a water dress and all sorts of good stuff.

Here's the Brazilian stunner on the magazine's cover ...

Man, we wish we were Tom Brady right now. After all ... the guy plays pro football for a living and has won three Super Bowls - how awesome would that be?!

If we could read the words on the magazine cover, we'd tell you what it's about. Alas, all we can do is offer our best guess ... oh who cares, it's not like it matters.

No, in all seriousness, there appears to be an environmental theme here. And if so, having Gisele get naked for the cover is a great way to promote the cause.

The Transformers star also admitted that she was paid extra for the role after allowing the crew to pour water over her while she danced, adding that she "probably got $600".

"I thought it was awesome. I was going to a Christian high school and I wasn't a feminist yet... I just did what I was told to do," she said.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Fox wants the media to stop comparing her to Angelina Jolie.

Emporio Designer Giorgio Armani said: Beckham's Underwear Ad Unveiled

The six-foot-high advert was projected onto the outside of upmarket London department store Selfridges yesterday (June 6, 2009) in front of thousands of waiting fans.

In the picture, the 34-year-old soccer star is seen posing in tight-fitting black boxer shorts, with his muscular chest shining. He is gripping a rope and has his hair slicked down.

Designer Giorgio Armani said: "David has a great sense of style and is an inspiring role model –- this is what makes him the perfect partner for Emporio Armani underwear."

"'I am very excited that David Beckham's new campaign image was unveiled exclusively in his home country - and where better than at such an iconic retail destination as Selfridges."

David's wife Victoria was present at the unveiling, and gave her husband a tender kiss as she saw the image.

Last year, David signed a three-year, $33 million deal to become the global ambassador of the Italian fashion house.

Victoria has a $19.8 million deal with the company, with her latest advertising campaign revealed in New York store Macy's last month.

Kate Moss wants to perform at a karaoke party with her lover Jamie Hince with The Kills

The British supermodel is determined to take to the stage with Jamie's band The Kills - which also features Alison Mosshart - at the Hoping's Got Talent charity event in London next week, but her guitarist boyfriend is against the idea.

The Sun newspaper: "Kate is keen on doing more singing, she wants her voice out there. But Jamie is refusing to even entertain the idea. He says Alison Mosshart will be livid."
Kate is confident she can change Jamie's mind and has even been taking singing lessons so she can wow the crowd with her vocal talents.

The 35-year-old beauty is hosting the karaoke party - which will raise money for children's charity the Hoping Foundation - at London's Cafe de Paris next Thursday.

Guests can pay for the opportunity to sing alongside other celebrities and will be judged by a panel including Kate and 'X Factor' judge Louis Walsh.

Earlier this year, it was claimed Kate - who used to perform on stage with ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty - loves singing so much she was planning to launch a music career after Jamie bought her a $42,700 Steinway piano.

A source said: "Kate can't play a single note on the piano but Jamie has promised her that he will teach her to play and they'll form a duo together. She has mentioned wanting to name it The Mossys for a laugh.

"It will be completely different music to his Kills stuff - something much more romantic and ballad-based."

Freida Pinto Dev-oted to her 'lovely boy'

Freida Pinto has finally admitted she is dating Dev Patel.

The 24-year-old actress - who has always denied being romantically involved with her 'Slumdog Millionaire' co-star - has confessed the smitten pair are an item, but insists the relationship is in its early stages.

She is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "The friendship blossomed after the film, it got even stronger. This is all new to us. He's a lovely boy."

Although Freida has only just spoken openly about the romance, 19-year-old Dev's mother Anita recently confirmed the pair were dating.

She said: "First it was the film and now everything else seems to have slotted into place. Life can't get any better for him.

"Freida is really beautiful and I am really happy for them."

The pair grew close when they played childhood sweethearts Jamal and Latika in Danny Boyle's Academy Award-winning film about a young boy's journey from the slums of India to appearing on TV quiz show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'.

In February, their 'Slumdog Millionaire' co-star Anil Kapoor claimed the couple were having a secret relationship.

Britney Spears has reportedly found love with her agent Jason Trawick.

Also, the 'Womanizer' singer's father Jamie is said to approve of her new man.

A source said: "They are totally and definitely dating. Her dad loves him. He's the best thing that has happened to her."

Britney - who has two children Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, with ex-husband Kevin Federline - has been photographed with Trawick several times in the past few months, reports The China Daily.

The source added to People magazine: "They're very sweet together. Britney has always had a crush on Jason. He makes her really happy, and he's great with the boys."

'Cowboy Bebop' Keanu Reeves in live-action

Keanu Reeves is set to play futuristic bounty hunter Spike Spiegel in a live-action adaptation of the Japanese anime series Cowboy Bebop, Variety reports. You don't have to be a fan of the show to understand why Reeves was cast: It's set in 2071. Spike wears cool clothes and packs heat. Done. I'm down with Reeves' casting because I'll watch Keanu in anything (I see emotion even when you don't), and because my attachment to Spike began roughly 10 minutes ago when I watched the ending of the 26-episode series on YouTube. Bang! (I'd recommend spoilerphobic newbies settle for the opening of Ep 1, below.)

What do you diehard fans think? Who would you like to see cast as paternal cyborg Jet, sassy femme Faye, and girly techno-savant Ed?

Bar Refaeli Take a Break with Leonardo DiCaprio

On-again off-again couple Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli have called it quits once more, sources confirm to PEOPLE.

"They're taking time off for the time being, they've split," says a source. "It could just end up as a break but for now they're doing their own thing."

That much was certainly apparent over the weekend as the Israeli-born Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, 23, walked the red carpet at Hollywood Life's 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards solo, refusing to speak about DiCaprio.

The previous weekend, the Titanic star, 34, hit the hotspot Avenue in New York City, where he was seen chatting with another woman.

"He was standing at the bar in front of everyone talking to a girl the entire night – and it wasn't Bar," says one onlooker of the May 30 encounter. "It was in no way behavior for a guy who has a serious girlfriend."

DiCaprio and Refaeli were then reportedly photographed together in Los Angeles on June 8.

According to a Refaeli source, the model's desire to get serious may have caused the actor to have doubts about their relationship. "She wanted to move faster than he did, she wanted to move in together," the source says, "so he broke it off."

LOPEZ STRIVE TO SHED BABY WEIGHT

JENNIFER LOPEZ had a rude awakening after she gave birth to twins MAX and EMME - it took months to shift her excess baby weight.
The singer/actress and her husband Marc Anthony welcomed the pair into the world in February last year (08), and Lopez thought she would easily get her slimline figure back.

But after shedding 30 pounds (13 kilograms) in days, she was stunned when it took months to work off the rest of her extra curves.
She tells Entertainment Tonight, "It did take a lot of work. I thought it was gonna drop off easily because I had been in shape my whole life, but it wasn't.
"I gained about 50 pounds with my twins, and the first 30 dropped off like that, and I was like, 'Ha, this is gonna be so easy.' That last 20 - that took a while."

Harper’s Bazaar July 2009 Does Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, 34, covers the July issue of Harper’s Bazaar but don’t look for an interview with the actress inside the issue because she isn’t exactly interviewed for the piece.

Instead, the magazine analyzes why the world goes ga-ga for Angie.
“Women both identify with her and desire her,” writer Naomi Wolf hypothesizes as she explores Angelina’s transformation from a wild child to Hollywood’s most powerful celebrity, adding that it’s “more than simply a physical response.”
As a working mom of six, Angie “makes the claim, with her life and actions, that, indeed, you can get away with it. All of it,” Wolf writes. “Against every Western convention, she has managed to draw together all of these kinds of female liberation and empowerment. And her gestures determinedly transgress social boundaries — boundaries of convention, race, class, and gender — giving many of us a vicarious thrill.”

Singer BRITNEY SPEARS 'grew up in a violent home'

The ‘Womanizer’ singer – who famously shaved her head and spent time in rehab following a breakdown – reportedly witnessed her father Jamie Spears regularly flying into drunken rages at the family home when she was a small child

Her uncle Willie Spears says “I was at the house and Jamie walked in drunk and called Lynne a bad name. She was in the kitchen drinking water and he grabbed the glass, walked into the lounge and just hurled it. It was rough, but the sad thing is that it became normal life.”

Britney’s dad claimed the show go on

After performing a slew of sold out shows across North America, Britney Spears will soon embark on the European leg of her “Circus” tour. Not that she really wants to. Sources close to the singer claim she’s still emotionally fragile, and it’s her conservator-father Jamie Spears who insists the show must go on.

“It's a freak show right now,” a tour insider told the Awful Truth’s Ted Casablanca. “(Britney’s) phoning every song in. It's pretty obvious she is not happy to be here.”

But happy or not, the Britney Spears comeback tour is far from over. According to a recent report in Reveal magazine, Jamie Spears plans to add even more dates and keep his reluctant daughter on road.

“Jamie can't physically force Britney to get on stage and do more concerts, but he does have nearly all the power,” a family friend explained to the magazine. “He controls the purse strings and can make things very difficult for Britney if he chooses to. He gets to dictate her schedule — where she goes, who she sees, who she doesn't see. He's in charge of everything to do with her life. It's a battle of wills over who will win — but while her dad remains in charge, he'll be laying down the law."

Britney Spears’Ex-TMZ photographer prosecute judicially.

TMZ, which first reported the case, auctioned off his tire-stained sock and donated the proceeds to charity.Spears was accused of running over another photographer's foot a month after the Mendoza incident, but prosecutors didn't press charges, saying it was the photographer's fault.

Ricardo Mendoza filed a civil suit in Los Angeles claiming that Spears committed assault and battery when she ran over his foot in Beverly Hills on Oct. 18, 2007.The incident happened at a turbulent time for Spears, who hours earlier had lost custody of her two sons.
