Steve stallone to state championship Pollitt high jumped away his way

After running side-by-side and finishing 1-2 in Friday’s preliminaries and again in Saturday morning’s semifinals, there seemed little doubt that top-seeded Don Pollitt of Hazleton Area and defending state high hurdles champion Michael Brown were destined to hook up in a classic final come Saturday afternoon.

And what a final they produced.

Trailing Brown throughout the race, Pollitt summoned one last burst of speed after clearing the final hurdle, and out-leaned the Lower Dauphin senior at the tape to capture the Class 3A 110-meter hurdles championship and give Hazleton Area High School its first-ever state gold medal in track and field.

“It’s a good feeling. It’s something I’ll never forget,” Pollitt said with a wide smile, moments after dethroning the defending state champ by a mere six hundredths of a second. “ I’m going to keep this medal with me forever.”

The HAHS junior started slow out of the blocks as Brown opened up a small lead on the rest of the field, including Bradford Area’s Tyree Bennett and Liberty’s Stephen Lewis.

“I knew my start wasn’t as good as it usually is, and I knew I was losing at the sixth hurdle,” Pollitt explained. “But as soon as I got past that sixth hurdle my adrenaline kicked in. I just knew as long as I kept it up I would eventually catch them and pass them.”

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) at Hotel Taj Lands End on Saturday May 23rd evening announced the line up of events for celebrating World No Tobacco day in association with Bollywood stars, World Health Organisation (WHO) and The Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Ben Stiller to take MTV honour

The star of films such as Zoolander and There's Something About Mary will receive the MTV Generation Award, the ceremony's top honour.

"Ben Stiller has kept fans rolling with laughter since bursting onto the scene in Reality Bites," said MTV.

Stiller's latest movie Night at the Museum 2 was released on Wednesday.

The Generation Award acknowledges an actor "who has captured the attention of the MTV audience throughout their career", said the channel in a statement.

Actors to have previously been honoured in this way include Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.

"I am honoured to be getting the Generation Award. I was given my first show at MTV and also cancelled for the first time," said Stiller.

Stiller has also been nominated in a new category at the awards which recognises a particularly hilarious and gruesome movie moment.

The scene in question comes from the action movie spoof Tropic Thunder and involves the character played by Steve Coogan losing his head.

High School Musical star Zac Efron will present Stiller with the Generation Award.

The other guest presenters will include Shia Labeouf, Sandra Bullock, Sienna Miller, Denzel Washington and Cameron Diaz.

Eminem will perform music from his new album Relapse and Kings of Leon will play their hit Use Somebody.

Jacko Picks Comeback Gig Dancers

Twelve lucky dancers have been given the opportunity of a lifetime by being chosen to join Michael Jackson on stage for his comeback concerts in London.The performers were picked from thousands of applicants from all over the world - 500 of which were invited to attend three days of auditions in Los Angeles.

Jackson himself was there to pick the final twelve, alongside show director Kenny Ortega and associate director and choreographer Travis Payne.

Oretega, who also worked on Jackson's Dangerous and HIStory tours, said it was a tough decision to make.

"The level of dancers that we saw at the auditions was incredible," he said.

"Michael was extremely hands on throughout the process in working with the dancers and selecting the final candidate.The singer begins his 50-date residence at the 02 arena on July 8th.

Concert organisers have rejected recent press reports suggesting Jackson had cancer.

"As usual, Michael Jackson is a magnet for preposterous and unverifiable stories in the media," Randy Phillips, president of AEG Live, said in a statement.

"He is in great health, working tirelessly on creating the greatest live performance of his career, and does not have skin cancer."

He also dismissed suggestions the show would include elephants.

Philips has promised an 'inspiring' show and ticket holders coming to see the 50-year-old singer return to the stage "will not be disappointed".

Madonna rubbishes 'wedding'

Madonna has denied claims that she and boyfriend Jesus Luz have taken part in a Kabbalah 'wedding'.

In recent weeks, the singer and her Brazilian lover have been linked with the ceremony, seen as a public pledge of commitment to their relationship.

According to reports, they were recently seen exiting a centre in New York for the religion, wearing only white and heightening speculation.

However, Madonna soon dismissed greetings of congratulations from photographers, which had followed similar claims made by Jesus' dad Luiz Heitor Pinto da Luz.

Aamir Khan’s first attempt at of beat Cinema[^] , Raakh (1989) is re-releasing with digitally re-mastered prints on June 12th. The film that had practically gone unnoticed when released despite starring Aamir Khan because it had managed to get a very limited release with just six prints in Three[^] cities.

The film starred Aamir Khan, Supriya Pathak[^] , Pankaj Kapoor (in a National Award winning role), Naina Balsawer and Marathi theatre veteran actor Madhukar Toradmal. Incidentally, Aamir’s sister Nuzhat Khan has written the film’s dialogues. Nuzhat is actor Imran Khan’s mother.

Reportedly, the film is being released as a part of a joint venture between two production houses – Audacity International and Storm Enterprises. It is also learnt that the film’s director Aditya Bhatacharya and also the co-producer Asif Noor too shall be having a stake in the deal. The film shall see a big marketing blitzkrieg, just apt for any big Aamir Khan starrer.

Aamir Khan stars as Aamir Hussain Khan (his real name), who gets into a fight with a hoodlum and as a result his ex-girlfriend (Supriya Pathak[^] ) gets raped.
